Background & Expertise
NHMU VIKING EXHIBIT CONSULTANT
During the 'Vikings' temporary exhibit the Natural History Museum of Utah (NHMU), hired actors with the intent to make the museum/exhibit experience more personal and more vibrant. I was hired on as project consultant with the responsibility of training these actors to be 'viking' reenactors. My efforts were overseen by Swedish National Museum, who owned the exhibit, and were intent on the viking period reenactors being authentic. I helped the actors create realistic historical characters, I taught them various aspects about Norse culture, and the difference between the actual Norse people and the popular portrayals of them in media.
